About the Team:
The Firmenkundenportal (FKP) Engineering Team partners with Vodafone Germany, maintaining and enhancing the FKP portal—an online gateway that enables corporate customers to purchase and manage subscriptions for both mobile and fixed-line products. The team is responsible for building new features, improving existing functionalities, and providing production support to ensure seamless operations for Vodafone's corporate clients.
About This Role:
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new features, improving system performance, and ensuring platform reliability for the FKP portal. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions that support Vodafone Germany’s business objectives. Additionally, you will work on production support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a seamless user experience for corporate customers.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Feature Development & Enhancement:
- Design, develop, and implement new features based on client requirements.
- Enhance and optimize existing features to improve performance and usability.
- Ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code following best engineering practices.
System Maintenance & Production Support:
- Investigate and resolve production incidents to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the Service Delivery Team to troubleshoot and resolve system issues efficiently.
- Monitor application health and suggest proactive improvements to enhance stability.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, quality engineers, and product owners to ensure smooth feature delivery.
- Participate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve overall system architecture and performance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Having 0-2 years of experience of software development in web application or programming with a strong focus and hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, with back-end development.
- Experience working with databases and writing efficient SQL queries.
- Familiarity with Eclipse, IntelliJ, UNIX (basic), XSL, and WildFly is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.
- Ability to work in an Agile/SCRUM development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or MCA (Master of Computer Applications).
