Scope & Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with other members of the Finance Team, the Intermediate Accountant is primarily responsible for Accounts Payable and General Ledger related functions as well as combining reporting with insight and analysis.   

This includes:

  • Maintaining the Accounts Payable and Purchase Order systems
  • Providing insight and analysis in regards to normal monthly cycles as well as ad hoc including updating financial lead sheets 
  • Assisting the Employee Expense Manager by reviewing employee expense reports as needed
  • Tracking spend against budget through fixed asset management
  • Assisting the Employee Shared Ownership Program (ESOP) Administrator
  • Assisting with audit requests in a timely manner
  • Performing other related duties as required

Pre-requisite knowledge for this position include:

  • Functional, working knowledge of Core ERP Software including Accounts Payable, Purchase Orders, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting; experience with NetSuite would be considered an asset
  • Functional, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Ability to time manage with efficiency in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to make quick and firm decisions
  • Skills working between different teams
  • Detail and Control Oriented

Education, Certification, and/or Experience:

Appropriate experience in core accounting functions is a firm requirement and priority will be given to candidates with accounting certificates/diplomas/degrees and/or plans to further their accounting education.
