Product Architect


As an API Product Architect, you will be responsible for creating a great experience for external developers integrating with our APIs by: 

  • Setting the technical vision for the product 
  • Architecting systems for the product
  • Collaborating with Product Manager to build the product right

This role is an excellent opportunity for growth as you will be working closely with external developers and internal development teams, BA, technical writers, support team and API Design group to improve the overall developer experience (DX) and streamline integrations.


  • Designing integrations with other products and services in collaboration with other Product Architects
  • Helping Product Managers ensure the right team is working on the product
  • Writing production code regularly
  • Mentoring developers
  • Delivering a product that meets the overall iQmetrix technical strategy and vision
  • Validating the market problem with the Product Manager
  • Making appropriate trade-offs between short term and long term objectives
  • Building a supportable, scalable, stable, secure and performant product per market needs
  • Meeting with other Product Architects regularly to learn and share knowledge
  • Making decisions that make sense for the lifecycle of the API

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 7-10 years professional experience with some lead experience
  • Previous experience creating or consuming APIs
  • Previous experience with API concepts and REST architectural style
  • BS or better in Computer Science
  • Comfortable working with multiple programming languages. Preferably C#, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Ruby.
  • Node.js and F# experience is an asset.
  • Strong foundation in object oriented design
  • Capable at all phases of software development
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development, Automated Testing is an asset
  • Previous full-stack development experience (Front and Back End)
  • Comfortable with git
  • Previous integration experience with one or more POS systems
  • Built, shipped, supported at least one API
